Abhayarishta

In Ayurveda, Abhayarishta is considered a miraculous potion. It is a herbal medicine made using multiple Ayurvedic ingredients. अभयायास्तुलामेकां मृद्विकार्धतुलां तथा |
विदङ्गस्य दशपलं मधूककुसुमस्य च ||
चतुर्द्रोण जले पक्त्वा चतुर्भागावशोषिते |
शीतीभूमे रसे तस्मिन् पूते गुडतुलां क्षिपेत् ||
श्वदंष्ट्रां त्रिवृतं धान्यं धातकीमिन्द्रवारुणीं |
चव्यं मधुरिकां शुण्ठी दन्तीं मोचरसं तथा ||
पलयुग्ममिदं सर्वं पात्रे महति मृण्मये |
क्षिप्त्वा संरुद्ध्य तत्पात्रं मासमात्रं निधापयेत् ||
ततोजातरसं ज्ञात्वा परिस्राव्य रसं नयेत् |
बलं कोष्टं च वह्निं च वीक्ष्यमात्रां प्रयोजयेत् ||
अर्शांसि नाशयेच्छिघ्रं तथाष्टावुदराणि च |
वर्चोंमूत्रविबन्धघ्नो वह्निं संदीपयेत्परम् ||

abhayāyāstulāmēkāṁ mr̥dvikārdhatulāṁ tathā |
vidaṅgasya daśapalaṁ madhūkakusumasya ca ||
caturdrōṇa jalē paktvā caturbhāgāvaśōṣitē |
śītībhūmē rasē tasmin pūtē guḍatulāṁ kṣipēt ||
śvadanṣṭrāṁ trivr̥taṁ dhānyaṁ dhātakīmindravāruṇīṁ |
cavyaṁ madhurikāṁ śuṇṭhī dantīṁ mōcarasaṁ tathā ||
palayugmamidaṁ sarvaṁ pātrē mahati mr̥ṇmayē |
kṣiptvā sanruddhya tatpātraṁ māsamātraṁ nidhāpayēt ||
tatōjātarasaṁ jñātvā parisrāvya rasaṁ nayēt |
balaṁ kōṣṭaṁ ca vahniṁ ca vīkṣyamātrāṁ prayōjayēt ||
arśānsi nāśayēcchighraṁ tathāṣṭāvudarāṇi ca |
varcōmmūtravibandhaghnō vahniṁ sandīpayētparam ||

  • Dhataki — Woodfordia fruticosa
  • Indravaruni — Citrullus Colocynthis
  • Chavya — Piper Cuba
  • Madhurika — Foeniculum vulgare
  • Sunthi — Zingiber officinale
  • Danti — Baliospermum Montanum
  • Mocharasa — Bombax Malabaricum

Indications —

  • Arshas — Piles
  • Udara — Abdominal disorders
  • Malamutra bandha — Constipation
  • Agni deepaka — Increases appetite

Dosage —

  • Adults — 15 to 30 ml with equal amount of water
  • Immediately after meal

Usage —

  • In bleeding piles — with Arshoghni Vati
  • In non bleeding piles — Kankayan Vati

Side effects — No known side effects has been noted
