Jirakadyarishta is an Ayurvedic medicine which is used to treat post-delivery disorders, diarrhea, and digestive system disorders. It promotes the strength of the body and mind, enkindles the digestive fire, cures insomnia, grief and improve digestion and assimilation. It mainly acts on the digestive system and improves the digestive capacity and reduces the digestive disorders.

The Reference shloka —
जीरकस्य तुला द्वन्दं चतुर्द्रोण जले पचेत् ।
द्रोणशेषे क्षिपेतत्र तुलत्रयमितं गुडं ।।
धातकिं षोडश पलां शुन्तिञ्च द्वि पलोन्मितां ।
जातिफलं मुस्तकञ्च चतुर्जातं यमानिकां ।।
कक्कोलं देवपुष्पञ्च पलमानेन निक्षिपेत् ।
मांसं संस्थाप्य भाण्डे च मृत्तिक परि निर्मिते ।।
ततः कल्कान् विनिहृत्य पाययेत् कर्ष मात्रया ।
अरिष्टो जिरकाद्यो अयं निहन्यात् सुतिकमयान् ।।
ग्रहणि अतिसारञ्च तथा वह्ने च वैकृतं । ।
jīrakasya tulā dvandaṁ caturdroṇa jale pacet ।
dronaśeṣe kṣipetatra tulatrayamitaṁ guḍaṁ ।।
dhātakiṁ ṣoḍaśa palāṁ śuntiñca dvi palonmitāṁ ।
jātiphalaṁ mustakañca caturjātaṁ yamānikāṁ ।।
kakkolaṁ devapuṣpañca palamānena nikṣipet ।
māṁsaṁ saṁsthāpya bhāṇḍe ca mr̥ttika pari nirmite ।।
tataḥ kalkān vinihr̥tya pāyayet karṣa mātrayā ।
ariṣṭo jirakādyo ayaṁ nihanyāt sutikamayān ।।
grahaṇi atisārañca tathā vahne ca vaikr̥taṁ । ।

- Shunti — Zingiber officinale
- Jatiphala — Myristica fragrans
- Musta — Cyperus rotundus
- Chaturjata {Ela — Ellattaria cardamum , Tvak — Cinnamomum zeylanicum, Patra — Cinnamomum Tamala, Nagakesara — Mesua ferrea)
- Yavanika — Trachyspermum ammi
- Kakkola — Piper cubeba
- Lavanga — Syzygium aromaticum

The Dosage —
12 ml to 24 ml twice daily taken after mixing with an equal amount of water. The exact dose depends on the age, strength, digestive power of the patient, the nature of the illness, the state of the viscera and humours, and the properties of individual drugs.
The Side effects —
A higher dose may cause a burning sensation, gastric discomfort, and irritation. Always take in recommended doses.
